Martin Luther King!

Every year San Antonio hosts one of the largest Remembrance March of Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. This year the March was held on January 21, 2008. The three-mile march started at the Eastside Boys and Girls Club at 3500 MLK Drive. The March kicked off at 10:00a.m. ended at the Pittman-Sullivan Park located at 1001 Iowa.

Thousands of people attended to show their heartfelt support for such an important commemoration. It was evident that Dr. King legacy continues in the hearts, mind and souls of many, many people  who participated in the March.

The 2008 MLK Commemorative Program began at 12:00 noon and featured a special guest, Dr. Terrance Roberts who is a member of the Little Rock Nine. He is also the CEO of Terrence J. Roberts & Associates.

vendors were on site to supply the large crowd with food and beverages. Many local companies participated in a job fair at Pittman-Sullivan Park from 9:00a.m. until 4:00p.m.

Our San Antonio community deserves praise and recognition for keeping "the dream alive." Dr. king was surely smiling down on us all that day.
