What does SAILS do?
- Provides independent living skills training to persons with disabilities who are deaf or hard of hearing to individualized independent living goals.
- Advocates for consumer rights and empowerment .
- Provides information and referral about community services.
- Increase the understanding of American Sign Language and sign language interpreting needs.
- Be there for you if you have any kind of emergency such as hospitalization, a legal or family crisis, personal need and money management problems.
- Helps you understand better and clearly any written documents you may not understand such as Social Security Income (SSI), job applications and other such documents.
- To assist consumers who are deaf or hard of hearing person to achieve independence.
