Advocacy!
Advocacy services are funded by the Department Assistive Rehabilitation Services (DRS) and Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA), is at the core of the SAILS mission. It is SAILS' effort to empower persona with disabilities and assist them with more independence.
Advocacy provides information and assistance for persons with disabilities and their families in accessing support systems and promoting changes that enhance full access to the community.
Advocacy is the act of standing alongside one another in a struggle for legal rights and empowerment.
SAILS provides advocacy services to individuals and promotes systems change. Individual consumers who come to SAILS may enlist the help of program staff.
SAILS also works with organizations in the community in bringing about system changes into our community that benefit persons with disabilities.
One of the many projects we have been involved with others is the continuous advocating for fully accessible public transportation.
